Josue + Jocelyn

When You Know...

Every once in a purple moon, a bride will reach out via text, or email to inquire about our wedding videography services. Through text, we find that we can build a better connection that leads to a booking over an email. With that being said, Jocelyn sent me a text letting me know that she was getting married in a few months in Ohio! Instantly, I wondered if she was going to get married in the same place we filmed last time, so I sent her our most recent film from a booking in Ohio. Interestingly enough, she quickly let me know that she adored the film and that my suspicions were correct! She was getting married at La Place Events in Akron, Ohio - the same place we had filmed last in Ohio for a former couple. As a vendor, you wouldn't understand how comforting it is to get re-booked in the same location. It is so much easier to already know the event space, the vendors, the layout, etc. It's like an invitation back to have some more fun!

So, we happily got on the one-hour flight and flew into Cleveland. For all of our business trips, we prefer to stay near to the airport if it isn't directly near the venue. We enjoy the frequent bookings we get in Ohio and have no problem getting used to this!

The pre-ceremony space was decorated so darling. Using a lot of white at a wedding may appear to be cliche at times, but it really does look great in the photos and videos. Their wedding colors were a mixture of white, green, tan, mint, and gold hues. So lovely!

I'm always intrigued by the alternatives that our couples come up with for first looks. Jocelyn and Josue chose to do a first touch and gift exchange without seeing each other. It was so sweet. Josue gifted Jocelyn this plaque with a sweet note on it and Jocelyn gifted Josue a pair of shoes that he had been wanting that she told him was too expensive to buy so that she could surprise him. Ha!

Just wanted to highlight the sweet decor. They had plenty throughout that was so simple, but so breathtaking at the same time. It's giving love birds!!

Pictured here has to be one of the most cinematic shots we have of the altar with the floral arch. And look at these two sharing their first marital kiss. We love, love!

Their reception space was a walk over from the ceremony site and it was filled with so much laughter and gratitude for the newlyweds. Both Jocelyn and Josue had so many welcoming friends and family members in attendance.

The cake table was absolutely gorgeous and when they cut the cake, I admired it felt pretty intimate and off to the side of the reception. We captured it on film and the guests got to enjoy it later on. These cupcakes though need a highlight of their own because they were DELICIOUS!!

Every couple that chooses us to capture their forever moments on film adds a notch to our 'blessing belt.' When planning a wedding, you choose to trust so many vendors who were usually once strangers and that says a lot. But, when we deliver films and couples tell us they LOVED IT and CRIED - it makes all of the pressure, crucial editing, and hard work 1000% worth it every time. We wouldn't trade this!
