Becky + Dan

You're Simply the Best...

Ah, this beautiful fall wedding starts off where our last wedding ends.  We traveled to New York for a prior couple's wedding, and if you didn't know - that's where I grew up! New York is home to me and always will be after living there for 12 childhood years. So, we stayed the week with family after that wedding because when Becky booked with us, we knew we could simply take the road trip northeast and make our way to Newbury, New Hampshire. That was our plan, and it was finely executed!

We will LITERALLY go where your love story will take us; this was one to remember. We left Long Island, NY, and headed northeast to Newbury, about a 5-hour drive passing through Connecticut, Massachusetts, and Vermont on the way! Road trips are fun when you know there will be an icing on the cake - capturing forever moments! The scenery was honestly the best part. A lot of fall-colored foliage, and friendly folks at rest areas, and passing through the major cities of the neighboring states was exciting for the first time!

Did I say I was eight months pregnant?? If you read the last blog, then yeah you know - but if you didn't; I was heavily expecting. However; I have to give a round of applause to Chrysler for their uber comfy minivan as myself and baby bean were doing so well on the trip over. We stopped once in Boston so I could walk around to make sure I was getting a health dose of blood flow to my legs. Then, pictured above was our last top in Vermont so I could use the restroom! No babies were born on this trip. Ha! This rest stop had a ton of information about the area, the workers were extremely welcoming, and the landscape was picture-worthy. They even had a fire truck out front that you could tour and buy snacks that would support the local police stations and firefighters!! Yes, please twice! Do stop here one day.

It was a little chilly and rainy, but we were still enjoying the ride a ton! When we crossed over the state line to get into New Hampshire, it was about an hour drive into Newbury. We're always early when traveling for weddings, so we made it into town and spent sometime getting to know some other travelers at the water by this park. Newbury was the sweetest little town, with the sweetest little people. I would totally visit again!

This was my favorite part of arrival, to be honest. They got married at the John Hay Estate at the Fells in Newbury, NH. We got to fly the drone and it was the most beautiful overhead view of Lake Sunapee and all of the fall-colored nature. It was just breathtaking and I'm so glad we were able to capture this to add to their film! This doesn't get old!

We first captured their first look outside of the getting-ready location called the Historic Stone Barn which is an immaculate property/Airbnb located right down the road from their wedding venue. Becky had such a beautiful dress and personality. Dan was very laid back and laughed a lot. On video, their first look was an intimate moment to remember! If you are in the fence and you're getting videography - definitely do a first look/touch/prayer because it'll never cease to be such a special time to capture and re-watch years over!

We don't always stay to capture the photo sessions unless our couples request us to because unless you're talking, it doesn't always look 'that' appealing on video. But, whenever the bridesmaids are dressed in multicolored garments - it makes the perfect transition footage for the film. Becky did an amazing job picking these beautiful autumn-inspired bridesmaids' dresses for her wedding day. Seriously, forget the weather!

Due to the rain, the ceremony had to be brought under shelter on the patio so they didn't get to have the lawn-styled wedding they originally planned for. Sometimes you have to adjust for things you can't control and their guests were so easygoing with it all. It seemed as though they had the perfect amount of peeps as well because it looked so organized on camera and there was enough space for everyone to view their union.

They had their wedding reception just a short walk away from the ceremony house/site. It was a beautifully enclosed pavilion-styled space that gave off the best rustic, but still elegant vibes. The table decor was nothing short of what I would expect, and it all came together so beautifully. Sometimes, I think fall weddings are our favorite!

We had such a fun time spending the day with these two! You could tell how in tune they were with each other and it was nice getting to see their family's enjoyment. We are over the moon grateful for them having trusted us to travel in to capture their forever moments on film. That will never be forgotten OR taken for granted. We are so blessed.

Every couple that chooses us to capture their forever moments on film adds a notch to our 'blessing belt.' When planning a wedding, you choose to trust so many vendors who were usually once strangers and that says a lot. But, when we deliver films and couples tell us they LOVED IT and CRIED - it makes all of the pressure, crucial editing, and hard work 1000% worth it every time.
