Sandra + Ryan

Until You Love Somebody...

This wedding was honestly one that I couldn't wait to attend and film for a while. Sandra and Ryan were our perfect match starting with their decision to bring us to my old stomping grounds; Queens, New York! If you guys didn't know, I was born and raised in New York and lived there for 12 years. I moved to the south after that but always loved and miss home. Their decision to hire us out of state was so special because going back home for work means also getting to spend a ton of time with my family that still lives there. We visited back home, stayed with my sister for 2.5 weeks, and got to film their wedding while in town. We happily flew into Laguardia Airport in Queens, New York the night before their big day. This was the best trip of 2023, hands down. I met Sandra over Facebook Messenger and once I told her I was from Queens and that we frequently travel there for work - she was hooked and the rest was history! I loved our initial chats.

We first started out the day and arrived at the hotel to capture getting-ready footage. When we went in with Sandra, she was beginning her photography session and we were able to capture the beautiful rings. This jewelry was actually her late mother's and holds a very special place in her heart. Let's have a moment for those who are no longer with us!

Her dress was absolutely stunning in person and looked even more amazing on her. She didn't have a room full of bridesmaids, but instead had her two closest cousins with her and they were in their PJs. I found this to be a lot more intimate and I loved it. They had the room decorated so beautifully for her too so we were glad to be there to capture it!

After we wrapped up shooting the getting-ready footage at the hotel, we headed for the venue to get Ryan and Sandra started on their first look. Their venue was Russo's on the Bay in Queens, New York and they had their first look by the water to read their vows!

This venue had so many unique nooks that were perfect for those couples' photography sessions and even family photos. They had a beautiful outdoor ceremony and just about every seat was filled. Their family and friends you could tell, had been waiting for this day for a good bit of time! Oh, and a shoutout to Monique who was the wedding planner/coordinator for the day because she kept checking on me to make sure I wasn't overheated or dehydrated - because did I mention I was filming this wedding with Bradley whilst EIGHT months pregnant? Uh, yes indeed and this is how loyal we are.

They had their cocktail hour with an abundance of yummy food. Bouncing around with a camera during this time usually allows us to mingle with vendors and family/friends of the bride and groom. It's always a really chill and laid-back time of the day. Shortly after, they had their reception and you can see these two coming in with the dramatic smoke bombs that come out so cool on video. They entered the reception from underground and that was the most amazing entrance I have ever seen. I'm certain that a lot of couples will book that reception space just to have the dramatic entrance in. I would too. Haha!

All good things must come to an end they say, huh? We wrapped up our time with them shortly after the speeches and dances. We were able to get them cutting the cake before then too and we were so happy we got to be their videography team for the day. Every single time a couple books us, we are overjoyed with gratitude. Especially when we are trusted to come in from out of town. WE are in business for you and because of you.

Every couple that chooses us to capture their forever moments on film adds a notch to our 'blessing belt.' When planning a wedding, you choose to trust so many vendors who were usually once strangers and that says a lot. But, when we deliver films and couples tell us they LOVED IT and CRIED - it makes all of the pressure, crucial editing, and hard work 1000% worth it every time. We wouldn't trade this!
