Maram + Joe

I Can Breathe...

Every once in a while, we have the pleasure of booking an elopement, micro wedding, or specialty event. Maram would fall within almost all three. When Maram reached out, she let me know that she was looking for non-traditional coverage as there would be no ceremony and no speeches. This was exciting news for me because, for most of our films, we use the audio from the ceremony and the speeches to drive the film's storyline. Without that, we knew that we'd have to slap on our creative hats and think outside of the box to craft together a highlight film that made sense, still reflected them as a couple, and also flowed smoothly and cohesively throughout the video. This was fun to navigate.

Bradley flew the drone upon arrival and this would be that lovely view from up ahead. Maram and Joe got married at the Hudson Valley, City Winery venue in Montgomery, New York! But, if you are from around the way - you'd know we just say they got married "upstate." Lol The weather was cloudy and a little chilly but upheld perfectly for them.

While there were a select few of the traditional moments we're used to during the day missing; they still had a great deal of moments we're familiar with to capture. Bradley's coverage for the day started out with those special getting-ready moments. Of course, when I'm not around, we make sure he comes in when all the ladies are dressed so nobody feels uncomfy! When he arrived they did a mock zipping of the dress and Maram looked so amazing in this 'cinematic' view of her applying her perfume. She's stunning!

For this wedding, I have no problem admitting that I'm obsessed over the details! They booked us for videography, but these photos make me want to be a moody photographer like yesterday! Gah, it's all so minimal, but luxurious at the same time. A girl just knows how to be stylish on her big day, huh? Cinematic, cinematic, cinematic!!!!

They both decided for personal reasons that a private ceremony would be best. But thankfully, we were still able to capture other traditional pops that day. Here they did their first look and by the grins on both of them - you know Joe liked what he saw!

After their family photo and wedding party sessions, they went straight into their cocktail hour since there was no ceremony. They had some live mingling music, and their guests were having a great time. This space was really perfect for their guests to enjoy those specialty drinks and appetizers.

Moving onto their reception, Maram is here participating in "The Candle Dance." This is a popular wedding tradition of the Middle Eastern culture. The meaning of this dance being carried out varies from country to country and village to village. However; simply put, this tradition typically symbolizes a "lighting of the path" which in this case, is for the newlyweds and the journey they will embark on. We love it when we can experience pops of culture for various brides and grooms. It's enlightening!

Every couple that chooses us to capture their forever moments on film adds a notch to our 'blessing belt.' When planning a wedding, you choose to trust so many vendors who were usually once strangers and that says a lot. But, when we deliver films and couples tell us they LOVED IT and CRIED - it makes all of the pressure, crucial editing, and hard work 1000% worth it every time.
